Premium Travel Visa

The experience of natural beauty and balanced lifestyle that could only be encountered on a rare holiday has now been made available under the Premium Travel Visa to any non-citizen who intends to stay in Mauritius for a maximum period of one year as a tourist, retiree or a professional willing to come with his/her family and carry out his business or work remotely from Mauritius .

How do you qualify for a Premium Visa

In order to qualify for the Premium Visa, the applicant must have proof of his/her long stay plans and sufficient travel and health insurance for the initial period of stay. The following criteria should also be met :-

  1. applicant should not enter the Mauritius labour market

  2. the main place of business and/or source of income and profits should be outside Mauritius

  3. documentary evidence to support application such as purpose of visit, accommodation etc. and

  4. other basic immigration requirements.

How to qualify for permanent residency?

Investor

Holder of an OP as Investor for at least 5 years, immediately preceding the date of application for the PRP, with: a minimum annual turnover of at least MUR 15 million for 5 years preceding the application; or an aggregate turnover of MUR 75 million for any consecutive period of 5 years immediately preceding the application

Professional

Holds an OP as Professional or a valid work permit for at least 5 years, and has a basic monthly salary of at least MUR 400,000 for 5 consecutive years immediately preceding the application for the PRP. The application should be made not later than 6 months after satisfying the criteria.

Self-Employed

Holds an OP as self-employed for at least 5 years with an annual business income of at least MUR 3 million for the 5 consecutive years, immediately preceding the application for the PRP or; an aggregate turnover of MUR 15 million for a consecutive period of 5 years immediately preceding the application. The application should be made not later than 6 months after satisfying the criteria.

Retired Non-Citizen

Holds a RP as a Retired Non-Citizen for at least 5 years and transfer of such amounts, by instalments or otherwise, the aggregate of which shall be at least USD 200,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible foreign currency, for a consecutive period of 5 years immediately preceding the application.

Any investor, professional or self- employed who is the holder of a permanent residence permit may be issued with a permanent residence permit under the category of retired non-citizen in replacement of his permanent residence permit for the remaining period of its validity, provided that he has a disposable annual income of USD 40,000 or its equivalent in any other hard convertible foreign currency .
