Key options include luxury villas, apartments, and penthouses with amenities like security and maintenance, often with no minimum price for PDS, though residency requires a $375,000 threshold. 

Retired Non-Citizen Scheme

Non-Citizen Retired Permit in Mauritius allows foreigners aged 50+ to reside for 10 years (renewable) by transferring USD 1,500 monthly (or USD 18,000/year) to a local bank. Holders can invest in property (IRS, RES, PDS, Smart City, G+2) and apply for a 20-year Permanent Residence Permit after 3 consecutive years. 

Key Details for the Retired Non-Citizen Scheme:

  • Eligibility: Age 50 or above, valid passport, and no criminal record.

  • Financial Requirement: Initial transfer of at least USD 1,500, followed by a monthly transfer of USD 1,500 or USD 18,000 annually.

  • Permit Duration: 10 years, renewable.

  • Permanent Residence: Eligible for a 20-year permit after 3 years of residency.

  • Property Investment: Retirees can purchase property, including apartments in G+2 buildings (minimum 6 million MUR), RES, IRS, or PDS projects.

  • Business & Employment: Holders cannot be employed, manage, or receive a salary from a business in Mauritius, but they can invest in, own, and receive dividends from businesses.

  • Family: Spouse and children under 24 can be included.

  • Benefits: No capital gains or inheritance tax; max 20% income tax.
